Greater Than Distribution (GTD)

Welcome to Greater Than Distribution (GTD). We offer global distribution to all major Digital Service Providers (DSPs) through our exclusive partnership with Virgin Music Group, a subsidiary of Universal Music Group. GTD operates on an invitation-only basis, ensuring our artists maintain full ownership and control of their master works and publishing rights.

Non-Recoupable Services Provided by GTD

GTD offers the following non-recoupable services to support your career development:

  • Dedicated A&R, Strategy, and Marketing Support
  • Marketing Campaigns and Content Creation Support (for social media and other platforms)
  • Label Services, Business Development, and Strategic Partnerships
  • Collaborative Networking Opportunities with industry professionals and fellow artists
  • Resources for Songwriting Camps, Showcases, Events, and Artist Support Programs
  • Project-Based Team and Financial Support (available upon request via GTD’s artist portal)

Agreement Terms

  1. Compensation:
    • Artist: 80%
    • GTD: 10%
    • Virgin Music Group: 10% (distribution income only)
    • The Artist retains 100% ownership of all masters and publishing rights.
  2. Payment Terms:
    • Payments are made monthly within 60 days after the end of each month.
    • Payments are distributed via Virgin Music Group’s “Artist Wallet.”
  3. Term and Renewal:
    • Initial Term: 6 months + 6 month automatic renewal unless terminated
    • GTD may, at any point during the term, propose a long-form agreement by providing written notice.
    • A 90-day non-compete clause applies after termination.

Rights and Permissions

  1. Distribution Rights:
    • GTD has exclusive rights during the term to distribute your music products globally.
    • This includes all digital distribution channels, streaming services, and monetization of user-generated content (e.g., YouTube, Web3 platforms).
    • Physical distribution rights are negotiated on a case-by-case basis with mutual approval.
  2. Use of Artist Approved Name, Approved Likeness, and Approved Bio:
    • The Artist grants GTD the non-exclusive right to use their name, likeness, and biographical materials for marketing, promotion, and endorsements.
  3. Territory:
    • The territory for this agreement is the entire Universe.
  4. Products Covered:
    • All songs, audio, and audio-visual recordings you own or control during the term, and choose to release.

Artist Representations and Warranties

  • The Artist confirms they:
    1. Have the authority to enter into and fulfill this agreement.
    2. Have obtained all necessary permissions and clearances from third parties (producers, mixers, featured artists, etc.).
    3. Will handle all payments to third parties.
  • GTD is not responsible for securing third-party permissions or making these payments.

Indemnification

  • The Artist agrees to indemnify and hold GTD harmless against any losses, damages, or claims resulting from a breach of this agreement.
  • GTD may withhold payments to cover potential liabilities.
  • GTD will notify the Artist of any claims and allow the Artist to manage the defense, though GTD reserves the right to participate with its own counsel.

Miscellaneous

  1. Breach and Cure Period:
    • Any breach must be remedied within 30 days after written notice.
  2. Governing Law:
    • This agreement is governed by the laws of the United States and the State of New York.
    • Any disputes will be resolved in New York courts.
  3. Amendments:
    • Any changes to this agreement must be in writing and signed by both parties.
  4. Notices:
    • Notices must be sent via certified mail or FedEx to the specified addresses.
